I’m learning a lot of things every day, yesterday was a big challenge for me. I’d already seen that there was a turkey in the fridge for Thanksgiving and I’d heard from a lot of my friends that Turkey tastes really good. I’d not been lucky enough to try it yet. I’d also received differing advice about my approach to getting some of this Turkey.
Should I sneak some? Should I pounce and snatch some? Or should I have faith and wait patiently? This last option sounded a bit mature for a little puppy.
From early in the morning I could smell what I guessed was the Turkey and I was wandering around the kitchen with my nose in the air. I decided I would try the patient option and see what happened?

| It’s hard to act all cool when you’ve smelt Turkey for hours, especially when there was lots of excitement going on anyway in the house, with all the family here! |
I thought I’d really blown it when they finally sat down to eat. I’d decided that would be a good time to go and play in the garden. After a few mintues mum came to let me back in, but I wanted to play chase and ran away and wouldn’t come in. Suddenly I realised they were eating Turkey in there! Was I going to miss it completely after all this time? I needed to play it cooler than this!
Due to my rookie mistake I had to wait outside while they ate their dinner and just hope they didn’t eat it all…..
Phew, mum managed to get some Turkey for me and she was putting it in my bowl along with my kibble, oh boy, it sure tasted good! It was well worth the wait. This puppy learnt a few good lessons on my first Thanksgiving! I can’t wait until the next time!

Good job Snoopy! Spike and Dru didn't do well with the patient approach so they had to go outside during dinner. Their portion is waiting for them today.
Snoopy, Your such a good patient boy ! Even though all my dogs know for sure that their going to get a nice turkey treat in with their other food,your sister Molly-Moe, along with her beardie accomplice Jake,managed to pull the turkey carcass and the pan it was in ,off the stovetop! Thank goodness it was after most of the meat had been cut off, and it was cooled down.I turned my back on them for about 30seconds "I should know better" Molly-Moe, and Jake still smell like thanksgiving since they seemed to swim in the turkey juice! Jean.
Hey Helen, poor old Spike and Dru, they obviously weren't lucky to get the good advice I got, were they in the doghouse? Sure they'll enjoy it today, yum yum!
Oh No, Molly and Jake, if you're going to steal the turkey you really have to make sure you don't get caught! I'm starting to wonder if I was the only well behaved doggy yesterday? Feeling a little smug!
)
Hey Snoopy it pays to be good. Daddy gave me lots of Turkey with my dinner. Well I guess it doesn't pay that well cause Jake and Molly got turkey with their dinner to. They had the fun of upsetting the turkey pan. I got turkey for breakfast to. I think I like turkey day.
April
P.S. I told my daddy turkey day should come every week but he said he would be way to tired to pet me, so I guess once a year is ok.
Hey April, I'm glad to see you behaved well too yesterday and that you're behaviour brought rewards, I guess we can only lead by example!
