I was feeling kinda lively yesterday morning (Mum calls it ‘mischievous’ – I don’t get that?). Anyway, I’d finally recovered from my weekend antics and I was ready for some fun! I chased the birds in the garden for a while then I came back in.
I headed over to the recycling bin. This is an ideal target, it has no lid, unlike the regular trash can which I can’t get into. Dad refuses to get one with a lid on and says I need to ‘learn’ not to steal things out of it. Mum thinks we should just get one with a lid on and she wouldn’t spend half the day chasing me around the house on her own. I have to say I’m with Dad on this, I mean, why spoil my fun?! Of course I know I’m not supposed to be in there, I learnt that ages ago. I also learnt it’s a great way to initiate a game of chase, especially when someone’s home alone as I’m pretty hard to catch!
Mum soon realised I’d taken a plastic grocery bag out of the bin. I guess the sound of me ripping it to shreds gave the game away and she soon came after me. During the chase Mum discovered my negotiation tool in the bin.
The idea of this was for her to let me keep the bag in place of the bone. She thought she could bribe me to give the bag back by holding my bone as ransom until I handed over the bag – doh! That wasn’t the plan!
I finally caved in and I got my bone back, I’m not sure it was such a good deal though…….
I think I’ve still got a lot to learn about negotiating……….at least my bone’s safe
