Monday in our house is usually ‘let’s bake something yummy day’. When we’re walking home from school Cory always asks ‘is there anything on the oven of awesomeness?’ Then he has to guess what it might be, Mum won’t let me tell him…….doh!
This Monday was no different, well actually it was a little different, as when it was time to bake Mum was on Skype with her nephews who live in the UK. They decided they’d like to help with the baking.
Yay, let's bake.....
I said I was in too – The Brownie Team was formed – the rest of the Brownie Team (the eaters) would be along later……the laptop went onto the kitchen counter and we were off….
I tried to help open the pack, but Mum said she had it covered....doh!
The boys said it was like watching a cooking programme as the ingredients were measured out and mixed into the bowl, it was hard for me to see it all as Mum won’t let me put my paws on the counter….so not fair!
Bradley opted to lick the bowl (virtually) so James got the spoon, I got nothing! This is the point I realised how this was going to pan out – why didn’t I realise earlier? It was Chocolate Brownies, therefore, “Not for Doggies” – I really don’t like that phrase…….I thought this was a team event? How come I don’t get anything?
The tray was put in the oven and it was now clean up time, this also happened to be the point when James and Bradley had to go as it was getting late with them (they’re 8 hours ahead of us!). Mum looked at me………
Sorry Mum, I'm too upset to come and wash the dishes.......
I think I'll just dream about how tasty those Brownies might have been......
Yep, eventually they were done and Dad and the kids were happy when they got home……..
Good enough to eat? I wish......
I think we need to start having Doggy Bake Day too, my friend Gus recently told me about some special mix you can get, I’m going to lobby Mum, I’ve even entered his competition to win some……I’d be happy to share mine with the rest of the team……..

I spy my favorite brownie mix from Trader Joes! I know they were good. I like that “Let’s make something Yummy day”. A few years ago when my eldest was having real Monday blues. designated Monday Chocolate Chip Cookie day. One cookie with milk after school. We did this for about 2 school years. Now of course Fridays are 7 Eleven Slurpy days and the Mondays take care of themselves. We may have to borrow your Make something Yummy idea!
