Find The Best Dog !!

I love to share things, especially if I find something cool – the other day I found out how you can ‘Find the Best Dog’ – Let me explain ……

Every day Mum tells me at some point that I’m ‘The Best Puppy in the Whole World!”  (well, of course I am – Tee Hee).

I have a feeling though, that lots of other Dogs are being told the same thing by their families…..

What I think Mum means is that I’m the best puppy for our family.

For example:

- I’m a light shedder (great for Cory’s allergies and Dad’s tidiness)

- I like lots of exercise (great for Mum as I can run with her every day, but not all families would be able to cope with my energy)

- I love everyone and everything (Mum is hoping I have the right temperament to become a Therapy Dog)

- I need a lot of grooming (luckily Mum likes to do this, but I wouldn’t be suitable for all families)

- I can type (very useful skill for my blog!)  Tee Hee

And for any 'non-believers!' - Here's the evidence that I do type myself! :)

Just pondering over a suitable caption.....

Oh, I know what to say...... where's that shift key gone? .......

Mum thinks that unfortunately lots of animals that end up in shelters are there because they weren’t right for that particular family.

I found this FREE tool that lets you compare different types of Dog Breed so you can Find the Best Dog for your family.

I know not all Dogs are just one breed, but I’m sure the tool will still help in these cases too.  Here’s a link if you want to try it out.

Or you may have a friend who’s looking to adopt a Dog, but they’re not sure which Dog would be the best fit for their family.   (You can use the buttons at the end of this post to share it with your friends).

Here's me playing last year with Sadie my Bull Mastiff (mix) pal - Mum would struggle with her cos she's a lot heavier and stronger than me! (I can still beat her in 'rough & tumble' though! ) :)

Oh, and I nearly forgot to tell you this FREE site also compares lots of different types of Dog Food and also Pet Insurance for those who would find that useful too.  Mum got insurance for me and would have loved to have been able to easily compare all the different ones.

This is my friend Lucy, she's a French Bull Dog - great for those looking for a smaller Dog - don't think she can run as fast as me though! Tee Hee

Finally, for those who are lucky enough to be allowed a Cat in their house (nope, I’m not that lucky!) – they also cater for Cats too!

Note:  I didn’t get compensated for this post (not even a couple of Dentastix! Tee Hee), I just like to share things that I find cool! :)

  1. LOL LOVE that picture of Lucy!!! :D

That’s a great tool for prospective dog owners, and you’re right that people should check out what breed is best for their lifestyle instead of just buying a cute puppy. Heck, all us puppies are cute! ;)

PS- You’re also right about another thing – my mom says the same thing to me about being the best puppy in the world. She also says that no matter how old I get, I’ll always be a puppy to her. That makes me happy. :)

    • Haha Daisy,

I’m not surprised your Mum tells you that too cos you’re pawsome! :)

Guess what? My Mum also says the same about me always being a puppy! Come on Mum, have you seen how big I am now? Tee Hee :)

      Wags to you

      Snoops :)

  2. Ooh, I love little Frenchies! And I agree, Snoops, that people need to really think about ALL of the needs a breed has to make sure they are a good fit for the family, like your mom and dad did. You are obviously the very best dog for them :)

  4. Thank you Snoopy for sharing this with all of us. Mama and Papa did a lot of research and even visited a Beardie workshop to meet some in real life before becoming Beardie parents. Everybody should do their homework before getting a dog. That’s an awesome tool to help them find the right dog that fits in their family. Thanks again Snoopy. And the insurance tool is so helpful. We’re still trying to find the perfect one for me, so maybe we’ll get a step closer thanks to the link you posted here.
    Have a great weekend

    • Hey Pepper,

Glad you found it useful!! :) Yep, Mum thinks the Insurance thing can be a real challenge, but she’s still happy with her choice of Trupanion after looking at the tool….

So happy that you’re parents were able to be sure that you were the right Dog for them before they became Beardie parents!!

Hope you’re having a fun weekend buddy,

      Snoops :)

  5. Snoopy, you forgot to point out that you are cute. I think that makes you perfect!

I hate to say it, but that Find The Best Dog Link has some wrong info on Chessies. Among other things, the colors are incomplete and it says that the AKC approved the breed in 1993. No, it was 1878. lol But as a general reference guide that site may be helpful. :)

    • Hi Browndawgs,

Uh oh, it sounds like someone needs to do a little bit of correcting on the Chessies! Cool that you spotted it, I’m gonna see if I can get in touch with them and let them know? I know the Beardie stuff was good, so I’m hoping it was just a little glitch! :) I’m sure they’ll be glad to know the extra info. :)

Tee Hee – I love your cute comment, how could I forget to mention that?! :)

      Wags and woofs,

      Snoops :)

  6. That’s a great tool Snoopy. It is so important that people pikc the right dog so they don’t have to be surrendered to a shelter. Thanks for sharing,
