All Dressed up and Ready to Go!!

Do you like my new vest?

I received this in the mail recently from a very kind friend who had it spare.  It’s a special Therapy Dog Training Vest.

As you may know I’m training to be a Therapy Dog and you normally have to wear a vest to go and do visits.

This vest will get me used to wearing one – it has an ‘In Traning’ badge on it, which hopefully one day we can take off when I graduate!!

Mum, what are we waiting for - I look the part - let's go!! :)

Doh!!  Mum says it’s not as simple as looking the part – I still have to pass the test – I’m hoping to have my first try at the test soon (Yep, Mum thinks it will take more than one attempt!) ……. Oh well, whilst I’m training, at least my vest says I can be petted – and you can never have too much petting, right?!

Hey Mum, I noticed it also has a zipper pocket on it, I think that’s for treats!!  Tee Hee

  1. Oh Snoopy! You look soooo handsome in your new vest! I think you will make a great Therapy Dog! Good luck!

I guess looking handsome is an unexpected advantage of wearing this vest, maybe I’ll wear it more often?! Tee Hee

      Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  2. I bet you will make a great therapy dog Snoopy! Love the vest. Very handsome!

    • Thanks Browndawgs,

Here’s hoping I make it, cos there’s lots of cool places and people I can go and visit – I’ve got my paws crossed!!

      Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  3. Nice vest. Sometimes I think of training Chester as a therapy dog. He would be perfect. I don’t have the time though.

    • Hi Jessica,

I can just see Chester in a little vest, it sure would have to be little! :)

Yep, you do need to have time to do it, but the group I’m hoping to join is great as the visits are in teams, you only have to go once a month (more if you want I think) – and I’m sure it’s fine if you can’t make it……

      Have a fun weekend,

      Snoops :)

  4. Woof! Woof! Looks GREAT! I am a Therapy Dog too (but retired on visiting). I was not asked to wear a vest just a tag. Wishing you all the best. Happy Friday! Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

    • Hey Sugar,

I didn’t know you were a Therapy Dog – that’s cool!! So, if you didn’t have to wear a vest where did you stash all your treats? Just wondering…… :)

      Wags and Woofs to you,

      Snoops :)

  5. You look so handsome in your vest!!! You will pass your test with flying colors and make the best Therapy Dog ever!!

  6. Snoopy you look soooo pawfessional!!!!!!! I am certain you are going to pass your test with flying colors!!!!!

Now…go and start working on filling those pockets up with treats!

  15. Lovely vest! I think it’s great you are training to be a therapy dog! No such luck with our Nala, she is way too timid to be one. But at least she is OUR therapy dog! :)

    • Hi Guys,

You’re so right about already being a Therapy Dog – my Mum has always says that too – she says I make her laugh every day with my silliness!!

      Have a fun weekend,

      Snoops :)

  16. Oh Snoops!!!

I hope you pass the test. I know you’re a great dog and I bet you can even be a better therapy dog.

Besides, the vest looks awesome on you.

    • Hi Haopee,

I’m glad you like my vest – cos I really dig it – I wore it for a walk the other day and the kids on my street were all checking it out and I got extra pets – it sure works!! Tee Hee

Hope you’re having a fun weekend,

      Snoops :)

      • Snoops… I forgot to ask, aside from being petted, what does a therapy dog do?

And I’m also wondering how you keep your beard clean? How many times does your mommy have to wash/wipe it? Doesn’t your eyes get itchy with your hair?

        Huggies and Cheese,

haopee recently posted..More Facts About DachshundsMy Profile

        • Great questions Haopee,

Therapy Dogs do a variety of things including visiting people in retirement homes or hospitals – you know, people who can’t get out, and we can go and make them smile.

Another thing they do, which I’d love to do is the READ project – here, a group of children practise their reading by reading to us Dogs!! It’s been found to really help, as lots of children gain confidence and have fun whilst learning to read…..

Clean Beard? Hmmmm, well, it’s not always clean as I do like to mess about in the garden a lot, but it often cleans itself when I have a drink, or Mum will use the ‘paper towel’ on me – yuck!! PLUS, I get bathed once a week too!! Even more Yuck!! But hey, I’ve gotta look good for the girls, right?! Tee Hee – I don’t have much problem with my hair as Mum always puts it up for me, I can’t see if it’s down – but I do love to rub my eyes when I’m tired, Mum says I look super cute – huh?

          Have a fun day,

          Snoops :)

  17. Awww Snoopy, you look snazzy in that vest!! :)

    Woofs & hugs, <3

    ~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)

  18. Hey Snoopy, that is a great vest. I stopped wearing one because it took up petting room and got in the way when I was laying down with the patents, but that looks like a really cool vest. It is smaller than the one I have and it looks less bulky, thus leaving plenty of room for the hugs and pets.

I can’t wait until you get to test. I just know you will do a wonderful job. my Vickie was more nervous than me when we tested. I almost didn’t make it because of her.

Tell your human to relax and enjoy and that you will handle everything. They go a little nuts when they hear the word test……

    Luck brother

    • Hey Bert,

You’re so right, if anyone’s gonna fail this test – it’s gonna be my Mum!! She’ll probably be all nervous and not concentrate – I, however, won’t be at all nervous, in fact, I’m really looking forward to it cos I hear they’ll be other Doggies there!! Woohoo!!

I’ll pass on your wise words in the hope my Mum will remember them – Thanks Dude!!

      Wags ‘n’ Woofs,

      Snoops :)

  19. Hi Snoopy! It is super nice to meet you and visit your very cool blog! You do look very handsome in your Therapy Dog in Training vest. I bet you are very proud to be well on your way. Don’t worry if you have to take the test a few times, we all have that in one way or another. It took me over several months to learn one of my favorite tricks, “How does a car go” so no worries.
I hope we can be friends. I will follow your blog now. I hope you will visit mine sometime too.

    • Hi there Pixel Blue Eyes – it’s great to meet you too!!

Thanks for your encouragement about my training – Mum says the first time around we’re just trying to find out where I’m up to with the training, so I think it may be some time before I can take the ‘In Training’ badge off my vest, but that’s ok :)

I’m off, right now to go and check out your blog :)

      Wags to you,

      Snoops :)

  20. Pixel again…sorry. Mommy thought she had followed your blog, but she liked your FB page instead…I always have to show her the ins and outs of this internet thing. You don’t have a ‘follow’ for the actual blog. Forgive me. See you soon friend…

    • Hi There,

I’m not sure how to have a ‘follow’ like they do on Blogger, it may just be a Blogger thing – but being Facebook pals is cool too :) Or you can subscribe to my RSS feed or my emails :)

Either way, we’re sure to stay in touch :)

      Have a fun day,

      Snoops :)
