It’s official!! There’s no need for us pups to take so many Baths anymore!! Tee Hee
All Dog Beds are built equal, right?! Well, apparently not!! This bed that I found at PetSmart has a Special Feature!!
It CLEANS ITSELF!! Woohoo!!
It arrived at the end of last week and I’ve been trying it out…
I chose the Brown one (actually Mum did, I didn’t really care!) – they come in 5 different colors (Affiliate link)
There's definitely a lot more space in it than my previous bed...

Things I really liked about this bed:
- The most important thing – It’s super comfy – I loved it straight away!! I’m going to give my old smaller bed to a local shelter
- I like the raised bits around the edges as I like to snuggle into them
- I don’t have to worry about being super clean or dry when I get into my bed
- It’s not going to disappear into the washing machine anywhere near as often as the old one – I always hate it when Mum puts it in there…..
- Mum liked that the base padding didn’t move around when I ‘ragged’ my bed around the lounge – she always had to fix my old one.
- It’s Non-Toxic and Environmentally Friendly

Cory tested it to see if it really was Waterproof!! It Passed!!
Things I didn’t like so much about this bed:
- It showed up my fur more than my previous lighter colored bed (actually I don’t care so much, it’s more Mum and Dad who care, but then I didn’t pick the color either – you may want to consider the color of your pets fur when choosing the color of the bed if you get one!).
- I thought the information label on the bed was for me to play with when it arrived, Mum thought it may have been better if this wasn’t sewn into the bed as it was tricky to cut it off.
If any of you Kitties are starting to get jealous that us Doggies can miss a few baths, guess what, I noticed that they even do them for you!! :) Look…..

Wow, waterproof too? That would be good for the pups who can’t quite hold their bladders like we big guys! Wait! I had an accident the other day (got too excited ya know?) so that would be good for me too!
I’m not a bed kinda guy, Mom wishes I was but we haven’t found one that I even like! Cody takes them all. That cat one is cute too but Cody just takes mine!

I used to be like you ‘not a bed kinda guy’ and preferred the tiles, still do sometimes….
When Mum got my last bed she thought she’d wasted her money until I realized how I could snuggle up in it (like a Cat) and hide my head in the edges and roll around playing with my toys in it – now I really am a ‘bed kinda guy’ – just like your Cody!

I love that bed and it is the prefect color for us! The fact that it stays clean naturally is awesome! and it’s waterproof?!Makes it a perfect slobber catcher!

Yep, we were super surprised to find this bed and see how much technology was in it – my Mum and Dad are clean freaks (especially my Dad!), so they love the Bacteriostatic stuff

Yep that is a big word – I even had to look it up – So, my understanding (in relation to my bed) in simple language, is it’s the study and development of clever new material that acts unlike regular material i.e. it cleans itself
Bearing in mind I’ve never been to proper school, just Dog School and they certainly didn’t tell us about this!! Tee Hee

Yep, it’s not the cheapest bed, but so far it’s proving to be great…. My Mum really likes that she won’t have to wash it as often as that did make my old bed go very floppy….

Cory was pouring water on it to check if it was waterproof – I was supervising him closely!! He gave me my bed back pretty quickly – phew!!
I shed a little, but mainly my undercoat fur sheds and it gets stuck in my outer coat until Mum brushes me….. Mum feels your pain with Peanuts, she used to have 2 Golden Retrievers – she says I’m a breeze!!

Your post was perfect timing! Since Wolf’s surgery, he’s been sleeping in the bedroom and his orthopedic bed is velour and dark and shows up dirt & fur and he keeps trying to nest, so I think it may not be as comfy as it is healing. I was thinking about a new bed…this just may be it! I will check it out. Thanks for the great review and enjoy your new bed (I am sure you are!) I’m thinking your mom picked the color to hide the dirt, (not that I’m saying you’re a dirty dog or anything.)
Maybe a suggestion to the manufacturer would be to sew the label on the bottom of the bed.
