Obedience Training for Mum and Agility for Me!!

I don’t know about other Dog Mum’s, but I think my Mum could do with a little more obedience training!  Tee Hee

When we met with Mary Cortani the other week, she told us about a class she runs that’s a mix between agility and obedience.

I’ve been wanting to try agility for AGES!  And Mum could pay attention to the obedience section :)

We started last Wednesday, it’s a great class and lots of the Veterans from Operation Freedoms Paws attend with their Service Dogs too.

I stepped over a few things last week, but this week I set my ambitions higher…. :)

“Hey Mum, do you think I could do that BIG one over there?”

“Sure you can Snoop, but how about we start with these smaller ones first?”

Can you see the one in the background? I did that one too!! :)

Mary showed Mum and I how to do the obstacles – it was lots of fun!  This one here is kinda wobbly, but I was brave!

I can’t wait to go back next week!! Yay :)

Has anyone else tried agility?

Have a fun weekend :)

  1. That looks super fun. Our mom keeps saying that Torrey would be perfect for agility, the way she leaps over stuff when we go hiking.

  2. How fun Snoopy! We have thought about having fun doing agility but I think based on my lack of coordination that might not be a good thing!

    • Hi Jen,

We’re still on the easy bit so I don’t need Mum too much, we’ll see how it goes when she needs to up her game!! Tee Hee

      Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  3. Very cool, Snoopy! We always wanted to do agility training, but there’s no place near enough. Too bad, because we think Daisy would be a natural the way she leaps over things! Have a fun weekend! :)

We were like that too, the only place Mum had found was on a night we couldn’t go, so we were super excited to learn of Mary’s class!! Daisy, in the meantime, maybe you could just practice on the furniture? Tee Hee

      Snoops :)

  4. Mom has always wanted to get me in an agility class because Shelties are perfectly suited for that. Maybe one day!

  9. Way to go Snoopy! Kelly would love agility, she loves to jump. But she’s not real good around other dogs so I haven’t tried a class yet. Brooks probably wouldn’t like it, but he’d love therapy dog work.

    • Hi Peggy,

It’s cool how we all have our things that we like, it’s just a case of working it out and matching the right Dog to the right thing! :) I’m sure Brooks would be a wonderful Therapy Dog :)

      Big Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  10. Wow, that looks like so much fun-and quite the workout! Keep it up, Snoopy!

  13. That looks fun, Snoop! I might have to try that with Rita. I think it would be good for building up her confidence. She’s afraid of so many things! She’s not brave like you!

    • Hi Jackie,

I’m sure Rita would like it too – I have to confess I’m not 100% brave, there are a few things that scare me, but I try my best to be all tough!! :)

      Big Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  14. That looks like fun. Freighter did puppy sized agility in his puppy class but he hasn’t tried the real thing. :)

Well, I was kinda brave, however, I was so excited to be hanging with Mary that I didn’t really realize I was going over it!! :)

      Hope you’re having a fun day :)

      Snoops :)

  19. Hey Snoopy, Jet here.

I’m so proud and a tad envious of you… I keep hinting to Mom that I’d like to try agility classes… no progress yet!

    • Hi Jet,

Don’t worry, it took me 2 years to get anywhere near any agility equipment, it’s just about perseverance and patience – I’m sure you’d be great at it buddy!! :)

      Wags to all,

      Snoops :)
