Monday Mischief – Snoopy collapses on the job!

I’m an only dog and some times it’s really hard to do all the dog work on your own!

This week has been exhausting!

It’s been very quiet on the Squirrel front (thankfully!), but oh boy, have the birds been up to mischief!

At the start of the week I realized we had uninvited house guests – they just decided they were going to build a house in one of MY trees in MY garden!

"Don't think I can't hear you all in there!"

“Don’t think I can’t hear you all in there!”

All the noise they were making gave them away!  I finally realized there was a whole family in there!

The hardest part was all the goings on!  Mum thinks I come in and out of the house too much, she should see how often these guys were coming and going!

And of course every time there was any movement I had to be on duty to escort them on and off the property!

Mum decided to take some video of my hard work – she says they weren’t really up to mischief, they were just being birds and I was just being a dog!

I’m not sure and I’m also not sure if Mum was up to mischief when she was editing my video?!

Anyway, if you watched the video, you can probably understand why I eventually collapsed on the job!  We so need another dog around here! :)

Snoopy collapses on the job!

  1. Snoopy, man you DO need an assist. There seems to be way to much surveillance for just one Snoopy. Those birds are just tormenting you.

  2. Oh, my, Snoopy – those birds certainly led you along a mischief trail. Super video by Mum :).

    • Hi Roberta,

Glad you enjoyed my video, the birds are just non-stop with the mischief! Not sure how I’m gonna keep up with another week of them?!

      Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  3. That is a lot of work keeping up with flying birds–I just let the cats take care of watching ours and I focus on squirrels.

  7. You look exhausted my friend! Those birds and critters can really wear us dogs out. I have my sister to help out but I am still stuck with the majority of the work, she just chimes in if I call for her. Take it easy and save some of your energy for the more important things like squirrels and wabbits, birds aren’t as exciting really or get yourself a cat to handle them, that is what I have done.

By the way, I love the the black and white! And the music was entertaining, too.

  10. Snoopy, maybe you should consider issuing some sort of travel permit to those birds so you can focus on other things!

    • Haha Molly,

I would have loved to have been in your house whilst you watched the video! :)

Did you catch any flies? Mum caught me eating a dead one the other day, she said I was gross!?

Yeah, I love it in my garden too, when no-one’s looking I loll all over the sofas, just don’t tell anyone! Tee Hee

      Wags to all

      Snoops :)

  15. Snoopy, I feel your pain (actually, your exhaustion). Being a lone dog and having all that work is tough. I have been busy with the obnoxious Blue Jays who have a nest somewhere in the Ficus bush and my pair of Cardinals are back too…this time, the Mrs. is fighting with her reflection in the sliding glass door. I’m tired just even talking about it.

  16. You need a nap, Snoopy… or a partner. It takes all three of us to keep the yard clear of those pesky birds! Woofs from Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie

  18. Hehe, that video is really cute, Snoopy! I can definitely see why you got so worn out; maybe Cosmo can come over and help? :)

    • Hi Remy,

That would be a great idea to get Cosmo over, you know, bring in some re-inforcements, only he’s usually when it comes to chasing stuff, he just looks around like he’s got no clue what to do! Huh? :)

Hope you’re having a fun day,

      Snoops :)

  19. Snoopy! No wonder you’re pooped! You either need a) another dog, b) a kid, or c) the Keystone Cops. Whew!

Oh I’d jump at the chance to get some help, Chicky sounds pawfect – unfortunately Mum doesn’t realize (still) how much I’m having to do on my own and is refusing my requests for help! Doh! :)

      Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  22. Snoopy you must have been exhausted! You deserved a good nap after that :-)

  23. Those birds really are up to mischief. We had some here who built a nest in front of my house – on part of the house. At least they flew the coop already.
    Bongo recently posted..Not MeMy Profile

    • Hi Bongo,

Wow, they didn’t ask permission at your place either, that’s so mischievous! :)

I have a feeling mine have just left too, which is a relief as I wasn’t sure how much longer I could hold out all on my own! Paws crossed they really have left!

Hope you’re having a fun day,

      Snoops :)

  24. OMGoodness, Snoopy! That is a full-time job. You may need to hire an intern. Be careful that the mama bird doesn’t peck your face off or poop on your head….

    Love and licks,
    Genevieve recently posted..Breaking RulesMy Profile

    • Hey Cupcake,

An intern is a fab idea, cos I have a feeling you don’t have to pay them, right?! Instead of giving them some of my treats I give them some of my expert knowledge in return for their help? Pawfect solution – you’re SO clever! :)

      Big wags,

      Snoops :)

  25. Wow, looks like a full time job keeping up with those birds! :)

  26. I think I need a lie down from watching that video!! I can always come and help out or send you Ernest! BOL

  27. Wow Snoopy, that is a hard days work! I spend most of my days looking out for the pesky squirrels too – and I’m pooped by the end of the day. I think you deserve a very special treat!

      Wags to all,

  31. I’m with you on the workload Snoopy…a family of ducks has moved onto my front lawn and it’s all up to me to keep them in line…Tires me out just thinking about it…You sure showed those birds who’s boss

Hope you’re having a fun day,

      Snoops :)

  34. That does look exhausting Snoopy. I agree, you do need a friend. But be REALLY choosey. We have a Robin’s nest with THREE babies, and not one of my dogs has even noticed them. So they’d be no help in situations like this. (Although, I can assure you Leah would be happy to assist you with SQUIRREL duty!)

I can’t believe your guys are neglecting their duties with the Robin’s – If I wasn’t SO busy, I’d offer to come over and help you out! If your guys just wanna come and give me some moral support that would work! Tee Hee

      Have a fun day,

      Snoops :)
