Can you give a dog too many ear rubs?

Can you give a dog too many ear rubs?  Not a question I ever expected to hear!  It was followed by – Or maybe too many belly rubs?  Huh?

Mum asked me these questions yesterday as we were hanging out on the floor and she was giving me ear and belly rubs…..

“Don’t be silly Mum, just carry on petting me please!”

You see she hurt her hand and was wondering if that was the cause – Really?

I totally know she hurt it playing badminton last week and actually giving me ear and belly rubs is great therapy!

I just sighed and rolled over so she could do my other ear! :)

Do your humans ever ask you silly questions?

It’s Independence Day here in the USA on July 4th – Did you notice in the picture I’m wearing my patriotic bow? :)

Have fun everyone, but be super careful – I find those fireworks scary! :(

  4. You can never have enough ear and belly rubs! I make a little crying noise and give Mom the puppy dog eyes when she stops rubbing me. That way I get a few more!

  6. I have to say, 90% of what humans say is silly – but as long as they deal out the belly rubs, I don’t care! :)

  14. These are not silly questions, Snoop. These are the deep, philosophical questions that try men’s (and women’s) souls. Is it too many ear rubs if the ear rubs are still happening at dinner time? Is it too many belly rubs if the belly rubs are still happening at walkies time? A dog’s gotta eat. A dog’s gotta play. A dog’s gotta nap. A lot. Yes, I think maybe there can be too many ear rubs. There’s gotta be a balance! :P

Who ever heard of such craziness? Humans hurting their hands by giving their beloved doggie ear and belly rubs?? Absolutely ludicrous! You deserve more rubs just for having to listen to such nonsense.

  31. Snoopy, I had to work the night of the Fourth :(. My dogs were safe, though: all in kennels or inside the house with a volunteer to come at 0630 in the morning!
And can a dog get too many ear/belly rubs? HAHAHA – my hounds don’t think so – they LOVE their ears stroked and massaged.
Hope you had a GREAT weekend. Looking forward to your Monday Mischief.

I’m glad your dogs were safe on the 4th, it’s so scary for some of us doggies! Plus around here it’s been going on for about 4 nights now, not as bad as the 4th but I can’t wait for people to get over it!

      Wags to all
