Monday Mischief – Mischief isn’t always a good idea!

If you’ve known me a while you might also know I have a bit of a reputation for a little mischief! :)

I think I’ve even been known to say ‘it’s always a good time for mischief!’ – However, now I’m older and wiser I’m rethinking this stance (I was 4 last week!).

Don’t worry, I’m not giving up mischief, I’ve just realized there are certain times when it pays to keep mischief under control!

Take for example when Dad’s using the grill!  Him and I have a deal that I don’t bug him and he ALWAYS gives me something later, he usually makes me wait until he’s finished the dishes, but I’m patient and I can handle it!

As soon as he gives me the sound (Mum calls it a very weird sound that she needs to record), but Dad and I know what’s about to go down and that’s all that matters – anyway, when I get the call I rush to the door, he lets me out and I sit on the grass while he painstakingly lays out the pieces of the sausage.  I’m not sure if he’s realized I’m a big boy now and really could handle a whole sausage, anyway this is how it goes!

Look Dad, I'm sitting perfectly like a good boy!

Look Dad, I’m sitting perfectly like a good boy!

I think this is a test, Dad's walked away, but I don't have permission to start, so I'm not chancing it!

And we're off, Dad likes to hand feed the first piece!

And we’re off, Dad likes to hand feed the first piece!

Gotta get every piece!

Gotta get every piece!

Now I'm realizing maybe I should have let Mum put my hair up after all, where did it all go?

Ok, it's all gone - What? I missed a piece?

Yikes, that was close - you don't wanna leave any sausage, it's too yummy!

Ok, I think I got it all now Dad! Mischief can resume! Tee Hee

Does anyone else have to put mischief on hold for certain important events? :)

  1. My dad took me to the hot dog stand by our DIY Store, and they gave me a whole sausage for free. I think they thought I was cute … or maybe it was because they were about to close and go home.

    • Hey Laika

What a great treat, I bet you’ll be hoping you get to go there more often! Think I’ll have to jump in the car when my family are going to ours! :)

      Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  2. Can be good to be good sometimes :)
Me too had birthday last week , me is also 4 years old now.

  5. Snoopy – delayed gratification and so well trained – or is it Dad who is well trained? hehe Good thing you found that last sausage bit else I’d have to send a hound to use her nose for you. Happy Easter!

    • Haha Roberta

Dad took a long while to get trained, I can’t remember the last time he didn’t come through and hand over a hot dog! Tee Hee – Yep, I can’t believe I was about to leave that last bit on the ground! :)

      Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  6. Snoopy you are just too cute. What a character! So playful but still well-behaved.

  9. We have to wait for good stuff too quite often. That waiting is a killer, but you are correct that you have to do it as it pays off! Happy Monday Mischief!

  10. Great job Snoopy. We do that when the peeps are eating yogurt or ice cream. We wait patiently to lick the bowls.

  11. Wow I’m really impressed with your self-control, Snoops! I’m like you – I can put a hold on mischief if there’s a treat in my sights. But once I get that treat…..all bets are off! ;)

  12. Oh yes it is terrible what those humans make us endure to get the good treats. Sometimes, Mom makes us sit for what feels like hours before we can get to the goodies. You did a great job waiting Snoopy.

  13. Snoopy, you have such a good dad! You’re right though, about his needing to recognize that you’re all grown up and need your very own sausage. Dad’s don’t always realize that their children have grown.

    • Hi Flea

I wonder how I can explain that though? It’s tough to convince him when Mum’s always pointing out I look like such a little pup rolling around in my bed – doh! :)

      Wags to all,

      Snoops :)

  14. I think sausage is a good reason to put mischief on hold! Elka will certainly hold for ham.

    And happy birthday! <3

  21. Nice job Snoopy! Yes, there are times for mischief and there are times when we need to behave (especially around the grill because someone could get hurt!)

Looks like you enjoyed those treats :)

  22. That is a fun sausage game! Definitely worth the wait. I always have to wait when Mom eats. She will share a tiny tidbit of food with me, but only after she’s finished. She worries about making me fat. For the record, it is NOT always worth the wait!

  24. You are very wise for your age, Snoopy! Sometimes it really does pay off to be patient and well behaved….good job. We are trying to teach our puppy this, but he’s pretty slow to learn! :)

  26. Oh that’s so cute how you and your dad have your little routine. What a good boy you are Snoopy to be so patient. I’m thinking a lot of dogs could learn a thing or two from you and your dad!
