Monday Mischief – Driving Miss Daisy! Maybe Not!

Thanks for your patience last week with all my trouble I had posting.  Now I can finally share with you the mischief I was excited to tell you about and couldn’t…..

One night last week we had some very unexpected mischief/excitement!

Dad had to run an errand in the evening, he was reversing out of the drive when a wolf ran behind the car!

He stopped suddenly, opened his door and was super shocked to see the wolf jump into the car, jump right over him and settle in the passenger seat!

Dad called Mum, who was in the house with me, and asked her to come out quickly, and leave me behind (major mischief not allowing me to be involved!)

Mum got to the car and couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw Daisy from down the street sat in the car with Dad, it was dark and Dad doesn’t know Daisy, so he didn’t realize at first it was a dog and not a Wolf! :)

Hi, I thought I'd just come along for the ride?! :)

Hi, I thought I’d just come along for the ride?! :)

Mum went and got one of my leads and took Daisy out of the car and to her home, her family weren’t in and she must have jumped over the gate.  Mum called her Dad and they were on their way home.  Whilst they were out some fireworks went off at a local High School Football game and Daisy got very scared and hid by Mum’s legs.  Mum realized that it was probably the fireworks that had caused Daisy to bolt!

Mum and Daisy hung out in our garage until her Dad came and collected her, at which time Mum came back in and finally told me what all the excitement was and why she smelt of Dog, I gave her a full sniff over……

How come I didn't get to join in the excitement?!

How come I didn’t get to come out and say Hi to Daisy?!

I missed it all!  Doh!  So not fair!

Does anyone else get left inside and miss all the excitement?

  1. Wow, that sounds adventurous! Sometimes, I get left out of the excitement too- especially when my kitty brother escapes the house. So glad I found you- I’m doing your Mischief Monday for the first time tomorrow! Can’t wait to hear more of your stories!

  6. What a bummer you didn’t at least get to play together! Some dogs just love car rides. Mom had a husky growing up and he used to run away all the time. The best way to catch him was to drive down the road until they saw him and say “Want to go for a ride?”. He jumped in every time, but it had to be the car and not the van, picky fellow! Sometimes he was covered in mud, horse poo, you name it, but they still had to let him jump in the car if they wanted him back. Maybe Daisy loves car rides too, but too bad we didn’t see your dad’s face when she jumped in!

  7. Hi Y’all!

Oh you are so right! Not fair at all! You could have been so much help calming Daisy.

Now I understand even more about why my Humans never allow me outside unless at least one of them is with me. It would have been even more scary if your Dad hadn’t stopped and your Mum come to Daisy’s rescue.

    Y’all come by now,

Yep, I’m a certified therapy dog, I think Mum forgot! I totally could have calmed Daisy down, well maybe once we were done clowning around? :)

      Wags to all,

  16. Wow your Daisy sure doesn’t look like our Daisy! Our Daisy is more likely to be mistaken for a fuzzy caterpillar than a wolf. :)

  17. Whew! I’m happy it was just Miss Daisy and not Mr. Wolfie! Once Mom saw our neighbor’s beagle run past our front window. I was left inside while she captured him and clipped one of my leashes to his collar. But guess what! She brought him inside to play with me while we waited for his dad to pick him up! I mostly ignored him, but I let him take a drink from my water bowl.

    Love and licks,

  19. Oh, that could have been a very scary story if your mum and dad hadn’t been there to help Miss Daisy! But I’m sure you would have liked to help too, Snoop! They made you miss your chance to help a damsel in distress!

  21. A wolf named Daisy LOL. You better give your dad a lesson in dog breeds, and at the same time teach your mom to take you with to see and sniff the “wolf” :-D

  23. I’m glad you all recognized Daisy and got her home safe. This is similar to what happened to a friend of mine a few years ago on the 4th. This strange dog jumped in her car and she didn’t know what to do. So she called me and we found the owners the next day.
